Maria Ana Bobone is unanimously recognized as one of the best of her generation's fadistas. She sings it and she does it in a distinct way: in the tradition of all the great voices. Maria Ana Bobone started singing Fado at age 16, after completing courses in both Piano and Singing at the National Conservatory of Music. Her debut album entitled "Alma Nova", performed in partnership with two other singers, would set the beginning of a brilliant career. She then recorded two albums for MA Recordings: “Luz Destino” and “Senhora da Lapa”, revealing a refined musical taste and where she welcomes new instruments to her fado (harpsichord and saxophone) in addition to the usual presence of the Portuguese guitar. Her career continued with the release of “Nome de Mar”, a project that gave her the deserved public recognition and which collected the most positive reviews from all the "media." The qualities and enormous talent of Maria Ana Bobone led her to make various incursions in other musical projects, constantly engaging in successful partnerships. It were those same qualities that led her to gather around her prestigious guitarists as Ricardo Rocha and Pedro Caldeira Cabral, each contributing with the uniqueness and beauty of their own compositions that reached, in the voice of Maria Ana Bobone, the pursued sonority of it's creators. Performing constantly in Portugal's major venues (Belém's Cultural Centre, Oporto's House of Music, São Luiz Theatre, Culturgest Auditorium, among many others) Maria Ana performs regularly at numerous festivals and concert halls throughout the world, presenting Fado Music and Portuguese culture to other cultures (England, USA, Brazil, Sweden, Belgium, Denmark, Spain, Switzerland, France, Mexico, Italy, Morocco, Malta, Netherlands, India...) Released June 2012, she presents the album - Fado & Piano. In it, partnering with producer Rodrigo Serrão, Maria Ana explores and reveals the full dimension of her talent: composing, writing, singing, creating musical arrangements and playing all the songs on the piano, she re-defines it as an instrument of choice in accompanying Fado (tradition that dates back to the early twentieth century). Studying the roots of fado, she sustains it in a deep respect and knowledge of old traditions, accompanied as always by the inescapable Portuguese Guitar and the Double-bass. In her most recent CD "Smooth" released December 2014, Maria Ana, an MTV linked artist since 2013, shows a completely new artistic path, switching from the Portuguese to the electric guitars, writing her own songs and exploring musical languages like jazz, country and even pop-rock. Leaving her fado aside for a moment, she sings in English through the words of Rodrigo Serrão (producer, musician) who wrote most of the lyrics and also produced this new project. This was special side-album that reverted entirely to the fight against laeukemia. 

2018 - releases "Presente de Natal", an album in which he elevates the traditional music of the churches with orchestral arrangements in partnership with Manuel Rebelo

2021 - Releases "Maria Ana", an album in which she deepens her accompaniments on the piano, alternately with the guitar trio in an increasingly personalized work,

Since then, she performed traditional fado in many countries such as Tunisa, Qatar (partnering with the Qatar Philharmonic Orchestra), Angola, Vatican, Sweden,Macau (with the Macau Chinese Orchestra), Spain, taking this unique tradition and presenting it in its purest form.

São estas mesmas qualidades que a levam a reunir à sua volta prestigiados guitarristas como Ricardo Rocha e Pedro Caldeira Cabral, cada um deles contribuindo com o empenho, a exclusividade e a beleza das suas composições e que, na voz de Maria Ana Bobone, alcançam a sonoridade desejada. Atua sistematicamente nas principais salas de espetáculos portuguesas (Centro Cultural de Belém, Casa da Música, São Luiz, Culturgest, entre muitas outras) assim como é convidada regular em inúmeros festivais e salas relevantes pelo mundo fora, dignificando o nome do Fado e de Portugal. Do leque destes países destacam-se Inglaterra, EUA, Brasil, Suécia, Bélgica, Dinamarca, Espanha, Suíça, França, México, Itália, Marrocos, Malta e Holanda. Lança em Junho de 2012 "Fado & Piano". Neste disco, já em parceria com o produtor Rodrigo Serrão, explora e revela a completa dimensão de todo o seu talento: compõe, escreve, canta e toca todos os temas ao piano que assume como instrumento de eleição no acompanhamento do Fado (tradição que remonta ao início do século XX),  sustentada num respeito e conhecimento profundo das tradições, acompanhada pela incontornável Guitarra Portuguesa e pelo Contrabaixo.

2015 - Lança o seu mais recente álbum: "Smooth". Neste disco, exclusivamente dedicado à luta contra a
Leucemia, Maria Ana assume a composição da maioria dos temas e deixa por momentos o seu Fado, revelando uma outra faceta e uma versatilidade criativa fora do comum.

2018 - lança “Presente de Natal”, disco em que eleva as tradicionais músicas das igrejas com arranjos orquestrais em parceria com Manuel Rebelo

2021 - Lança “Maria Ana” um disco em que aprofunda os seus acompanhamentos ao piano, alternadamente com o trio de guitarras num trabalho cada vez mais personalizado

Desde então tem levado o fado tradicional consigo aos mais variados palcos: Tunisia, Catar (em parceria com a orquestra filarmónica do Catar), Angola, Vaticano, Suécia, servindo a tradição portuguesa na sua forma mais autêntica e apoiada nas suas mais antigas raízes.
