Maria Ana Bobone is a Portuguese fado singer and songwriter. Trained in piano and voice at the National Conservatory, she began singing fado at 16 and accompanies herself at the piano. Her albums include Luz Destino, Nome de Mar, Fado & Piano and Maria Ana, and she has sung in more than twenty countries. Her new single, Sou Rosa, is out on 23 October 2026.

She began singing fado at 16, after completing piano and voice studies at the National Conservatory of Music. Her debut album, Alma Nova, opened the way to a long career. Luz Destino and Senhora da Lapa followed, recorded for MA Recordings, where harpsichord and saxophone joined the Portuguese guitar. Nome de Mar brought recognition from the public and the press. She has worked with guitarists Ricardo Rocha and Pedro Caldeira Cabral. She performs regularly at major Portuguese venues such as Belém Cultural Centre, Casa da Música, São Luiz Theatre and Culturgest, and has taken fado to England, the United States, Brazil, Sweden, Belgium, Denmark, Spain, Switzerland, France, Mexico, Italy, Morocco, Malta, the Netherlands and India. In June 2012 she released Fado & Piano, produced by Rodrigo Serrão, and began composing, arranging and accompanying herself at the piano. December 2014 brought Smooth, sung in English with electric guitars and touches of jazz, country and pop-rock, with proceeds supporting the fight against leukaemia. In 2018 she recorded Presente de Natal, with orchestral arrangements by Manuel Rebelo. In 2021 came Maria Ana, deepening the piano and guitar-trio sound. She has sung in Tunisia, in Qatar with the Qatar Philharmonic Orchestra, in Angola, at the Vatican, in Sweden and in Macau with the Macau Chinese Orchestra. In 2026 she releases Sou Rosa, her own composition set to a poem by Ary dos Santos. The single is out on 23 October.
